Joan Billey Artist Bio

Joan Billey Kayaking on Pine Lake
Joan is inspired by the people and landscapes of the West Coast of B.C. She loves spending time in the outdoors finding visual moments to capture for future paintings. Visiting the Khutzeymateen Wilderness Sanctuary as an Artist in Residence at the Khutzeymateen Wilderness Lodge last year was a highlight for Joan. Spending time with the amazing guides and seeing many, many grizzlies in their natural habitat was a unique and exciting experience.
Joan works in acrylic, oil, watercolour, and coloured pencils. As a member of the Easel Weasel Art Group based in Prince Rupert she has learned from many talented artists. She is also a member of the local pottery studio and creates in clay on the wheel and with hand building.
