Jessica is a graduate of the Freda Diesing School of First Nations Fine Art. Jessica studied under masters such as Stan Bevan and Dempsey Bob. Her heritage includes Gitxsan, Nisga’a and Tsimshian.

Jessica was elected to Terrace City Council in 2018 at the age of 25. She took on issues relating to women and Indigenous people in the community, struggling to get the council to focus on issues raised by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

In March 2023 Jessica McCallum–Miller won the Governor General’s Award for diversity and inclusion.
