A world renown Gitxan First Nation carver, born in the valley of the village Kispiox (which means ‘The People of the Hiding Place’. His artwork tells stories of his ancient culture.

Known affectionately as ‘Ya Ya’ Charles taught his craft at the Kitanmaax School of Northwest Coast Indian Art in Hazelton BC.
